In the extremely contested arena of interactive entertainment, it's common for new contenders to vanish as quickly as they burst on to the stage.
But Battlefield 6 is striving to change that.
Here comes the most recent addition in a long-standing warfare game line often positioned as a grittier response to the CoD series.
The title has not quite been able to equal its most famous rival in aspects of sales or user base, but evidence points to the new installment could narrow the difference.
A trial session allowing gamers a opportunity to experience the game not long ago broke records, and the buzz leading up to its release has been huge.

"Working with diverse cultures, distinct heritages, it's a truly engaging atmosphere to be involved in every day," he says.
"This whole approach has been a fresh take but also truly exciting because we are working with team members from around the globe."
As for the expectation on the crew, Fas comments: "We experience pressure but also it's thrilling.
"We're dealing with a major project. It's arguably the biggest that the majority of the team have before worked on."
Emerging Artist Contributes Fresh View
That's absolutely accurate of no less than an individual developer, lighting artist Vlad Kokhan.
The 21-year-old makes the lighting elements that influence the mood, feel, and direction of the solo experience.
