Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Predictions

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other evening for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He coached our side for two or three years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly close, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was previously that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have got lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
